Majestic birds will be visiting Hendricks County on Earth Day – Friday, April 22.

The Duke Energy Foundation is sponsoring the American Eagle Foundation’s “Birds of Prey” program at 1 p.m. April 22 at Sodalis Park, 7700 S. C.R. 975 E., Plainfield. The program features several species of birds, including eagles. It’s an up-close and dramatic look at some regal wildlife. The event is free and open to the public.

In addition to the performance, Duke Energy employees will be assembling and distributing free birdfeeders and bird seed beginning at 1PM, while supplies last. Employees are also partnering with Hendricks County Parks and Recreation that day to remove invasive honeysuckle and repair walking paths at the park.

“Our employees volunteer year-round, but in the spring the company shines a light on volunteerism and encourages us to roll-up our sleeves and support grassroots, community projects,” Duke Energy Indiana president Melody Birmingham-Byrd said. “There are dozens of projects planned as diverse as our employees themselves, and they make a difference.”

Thank you Duke Energy!
